Naomi Osaka Tennis Racquet Review

A few days now I got the chance to play-test the Yonex EZONE 98. The past EZONE models are known for being spin-friendly and very comfortable to use on the court. So, I was really anxious to see what this racquet had to offer in performance, and if there was any new upgrades. This what I think about the racquet after playing a few hours with it.

GroundStrokes

I recognized first of all was the pardon of the racquet. The isometric head figure have been presented to the Ezone and therefore the honeyed spot have been gained massively. As well, I find that the vibration have been decreased to this racquet, so no more vibration pinging within the racquet.

The most relevant component of a racquet, is it’s performance from the service line. It took some time to get familiar to the racquet, but once I got comfortable, it felt real great from the service line. This racquet have a lot of spin and mightiness potential, and I can really visualize how aggressive service line players would enjoy and appreciate this racquet.

Im not the most belligerent player, so this isn’t a racquet what I’d personally have interest to use. Even though, I’m definitely a fan of the racquet for groundstrokes, there are different racquets that suits my baseline performance.

Volleys

I absolutely admire the maneuverability at the net with this racquet. It permits you to adjust the racquet into any posture during fast convert. I felt well situated at the net and this is probably what I love the most surely with the Yonex EZONE 98.

So if you are a player that spends a lot of a duration at the net, this racquet is definitely for you. Unfortunately, the advanced game of tennis is getting quicker and net plays are becoming no longer important.

Serving

The Yonex Ezone surprised me with the serves. I anticipated it to be a normal racquet that wouldn’t permit for big serves. Even though, the EZONE 98 had a lot of power that grant me to maximize my MPH. The serves didn’t only feel right for flat serves, it was also good at striking with spin.

It was a pleasant surprise that the best part of the Yonex EZONE 98 was the serves. I’m not the greatest server, but this racquet let me achieve my full potency.

Now that you know about Naomi Osaka’s tennis racquet, Let us learn how you can choose the best tennis racquet for yourself.

Key considerations when choosing a tennis racquet:

  • Based on head size: The tennis racquet head size refers to the size of the actual hitting area within the tennis racquet frame. The larger the head size of a racquet, the more power the racquet can generate.
  • Based on weight: The weight of the racquet is another factor that is very important while purchasing a new racket. Tennis racquets come in a large range of different weights from 225g to 340g.
  • Based on racquet balance: A Racquet balance is the weight distribution along the length of the racquet. There are three types of balance distributions used in tennis racquets:
  1. Head heavy racquet
  2. Head light racquet
  3. Even balance racquet
  • Based on racquet length: The longer the length of the racquet, the greater the leverage on a swing, therefore giving more power to a shot.

You can also determine the type of tennis racquet you need based on your tennis journey.

  1. Beginner tennis player– If you are a beginner tennis player, always start with a light racquet that has a large head or an oversized racquet. This will help you make contact with the ball without wearing out your arm, elbow or wrist muscles.
  2. Intermediate tennis player– If you are an intermediate tennis player, you can choose a slightly smaller head and a racquet that has a bit of weight thus providing better control too.

Advanced tennis player– If you are an advanced tennis player, use a mid size head and a heavyweight frame racquet that will allow you to play with control, feel and precision.
